CM Dhami welcomed the Kanwariyas by washing their feet, flowers were showered from helicopter

Haridwar: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today participated in the program organized at Ganga Ghat located at Om Bridge, near Damkothi in Haridwar and welcomed the Shiva devotees Kanwariyas who came to Uttarakhand from different states. He welcomed the Kanwariyas by washing their feet and offering them Ganga water as a mark of respect. After this, flowers were showered on the Kanwariyas from a helicopter from Har Ki Pauri to Narsan border.

CM Dhami welcomed the Kanwariyas and said that Haridwar is the center of devotion of the entire country. This holy place has the special blessings of Mother Ganga and Lord Bholenath. Kanwar Yatra has special significance in the month of Shravan. The state government has got the privilege of welcoming the Kanwariyas. By making the Kanwar Yatra smooth and safe, the government is working as a supporter of the Kanwariyas in this journey. Serving the Kanwariyas is a virtuous act for everyone.

CM Dhami said that the state government has made adequate arrangements for health camps, toilets, parking, tin sheds, resting places at various places for the Kanwar Yatra. This year the arrangements have been improved more as compared to last year. He said that last year more than four crore Kanwariyas had come to Uttarakhand in the Kanwar Yatra. Last year’s journey was completed safely with the blessings of Lord Bholenath. He said that this year also a large number of Kanwariyas are expected to come to Uttarakhand, for which the government and administration are fully prepared. The Chief Minister said that the government is working to preserve the Sanatan culture along with faith and development. He said that all Kanwar devotees will take Ganga water and perform Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva. The Chief Minister also praised the work of social organizations and voluntary organizations for the smooth management of the Kanwar fair.
