Dehradun: House of Himalayas products will be purchased for meetings and events of all departments and offices under the Uttarakhand government.
House of Himalayas is a common brand of products made by women self-help groups, farmers, farmer producer organizations and rural entrepreneurs of Uttarakhand. It was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself. Secretary Radhika Jha said that the House of Himalayas brand, operated under the Rural Development Department, has also been successful in making a mark in a short time for its quality. House of Himalayas products are also available on the e-commerce portal. In this sequence, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi wrote a letter to the heads of all departments and offices on Wednesday, asking them to purchase the products of House of Himalayas on priority basis on the occasion of various departmental and office meetings, programs, celebrations and main festivals like Holi, Diwali. This is expected to boost the economy of rural areas.
Taking inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vocal for Local mantra, the Uttarakhand government is promoting the House of Himalayas brand. Quality products of the House of Himalayas brand are also available as gift packs for big occasions like Diwali. All the state residents can contribute to increasing the livelihood of rural entrepreneurs of their state by purchasing these products.
