Dehradun: Uttarakhand chief minister (CM) Pushkar Singh Dhami met with 75 wedding planners from across the country on Wednesday, seeking their input on transforming Uttarakhand into a wedding destination. During the meeting, which was held through video conference, Dhami highlighted state’s religious and natural sites as ideal for destination weddings. “The state will also create a special identity as a wedding destination,” the CM said.
Echoing the sentiments, a top wedding planner, who attended the meeting with the chief minister, said that the youth prefer natural and peaceful locations for weddings.
Meanwhile, Dhami noted that the state’s scenic beauty, including the Char Dham, has always drawn people from around the globe.
The chief minister also said that the state is prioritising these locations for film shoots and pre-wedding photography.
Dhami also announced that the govt is formulating a comprehensive policy to promote the state as a wedding destination. “Its details will be revealed soon,” he added.
