Dehradun: Under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund, the foundation stone was laid for the reconstruction of the Gadarpur-Dineshpur-Matkota-Haldwani motor road and the widening and strengthening of the Manunagar-Gadarpur-Dineshpur-Matkota-Haldwani road in Udham Singh Nagar district at a cost of ₹55 crore. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated virtually in the program.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that this construction work will prove to be a milestone for the Terai region. The completion of this project will facilitate smooth transportation, boost trade, industry, and tourism, and give a new direction to the local economy. This route will connect Gadarpur, Dineshpur, Matkota, Chhatarpur, and Vilaspur in Uttar Pradesh.
The Chief Minister stated that this project will provide easy and safe transportation for approximately 200,000 local residents, businessmen, and industrial workers in the region. He stated that under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state of Uttarakhand is setting new records of development and prosperity. From the state’s cities to remote mountain villages, infrastructure related to all vital sectors, including roads, education, health, and drinking water, is being strengthened.
The Chief Minister stated that road connectivity in the state has been strengthened. He noted that as a hilly state, the state faces numerous natural disasters, causing extensive damage to roads in mountainous areas. He stated that today, the government is working on a war footing to restore traffic there.
The Chief Minister stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a comprehensive road network is being built up to our border areas. The double-engine government is working to complete projects that have been pending for decades. The government is making unprecedented improvements to road connectivity in the state and ensuring the overall development of the state through various projects.
The Chief Minister said that the restart of construction of the Jamrani Dam Multipurpose Project is addressing the drinking water and irrigation problems of the entire Terai region. The establishment of an Industrial Smart City in Khurpiya is accelerating development throughout the region. The government is also continuously working towards preserving and promoting the state’s rich cultural heritage. Like Kedarkhand, work is underway to revive and beautify the ancient temples of Manaskhand.
