Dehradun: After the helicopter accident between Kedarnath-Gaurikund, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami called a high level meeting at Dehradun CM residence. CM held a virtual meeting with senior officials. Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan, Disaster Management Secretary, UCADA CEO, Garhwal Commissioner and other senior officials were present in this meeting.
At the same time, taking seriously the recent helicopter accidents in the state, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has issued strict instructions regarding helicopter operations. The Chief Minister said that strict SOP should be prepared for the operation of heli services in the state, in which complete investigation of the technical condition of the helicopter and taking accurate weather information before flight should be made mandatory. At the same time, the high level committee constituted to investigate the helicopter accidents will investigate every aspect of the earlier heli accidents as well as today’s heli crash and submit its report to the CM.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the Chief Secretary to constitute a committee of technical experts, which will prepare the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) by thoroughly reviewing all the technical and safety aspects of heli operations. This committee will ensure that the operation of heli services is completely safe, transparent and as per the prescribed standards. Along with this, the Chief Minister has also directed that the high-level committee constituted to investigate helicopter accidents will thoroughly investigate every aspect of today’s heli crash along with the previous heli accidents and submit its report. This committee will investigate the causes of each incident in depth and identify the guilty persons or institutions and recommend strict action against them. The Chief Minister said that the importance of heli services in the state is immense for pilgrimage, disaster management and emergency services, so safety will be given top priority in these.
