Compassionate Leadership: IAS Divya Mittal Shines in Deoria with Heartwarming Gesture, Inspires Student as One-Day DM

2013 batch IAS officer Divya Mittal, currently serving as the District Magistrate of Deoria, is making headlines for her proactive administration in flood-affected areas. Recently transferred to Deoria, she gained widespread recognition when a video went viral showing her offering her chair to a local student, Khushi Mani Tripathi, for two hours.

Ms Khushi, a 12th-grade student at PM Shri Government Inter College and resident of Shivpuram Colony, scored an impressive 92% in her high school exams. After interviewing several candidates, officials selected Khushi for this unique opportunity. During her brief tenure as District Magistrate, she addressed public concerns and provided instructions to officials. Khushi expressed her excitement about the experience, stating her aspiration to become an officer and serve the country in the future.

Divya Mittal, a 2013 batch IAS officer originally from Rewari, Haryana, has held various significant positions, including District Magistrate in Mirzapur and Basti. A graduate of IIT Delhi, she also earned an MBA from IIM Bangalore and briefly worked at JP Morgan in London before dedicating herself to UPSC preparations. After securing a position as an IPS officer in Gujarat, she pursued her dream again, eventually becoming an IAS officer.

Throughout her career, Mittal has made impactful contributions, such as improving water access in the village of Lahuria Dah in Mirzapur. Her compassionate approach and commitment to public service continue to inspire both her community and future leaders like Khushi.
