Dehradun: A coordination meeting was held between the state government and DRM Moradabad Sangrah Maurya in the Secretariat on Monday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan. During the meeting, various issues were discussed with the railways and the state government.
The Chief Secretary directed that a joint survey should be conducted by the team of Rajaji National Park, Railways and DFO for Rishikesh Doiwala Railway Bypass as soon as possible. He also started the process of wildlife clearance and forest clearance. He directed that the survey should be completed by a joint team of Railways, Forest and Revenue to expedite the expansion work of Harrawala Railway Station.
The Chief Secretary said that it is very important to make Haridwar-Dehradun double lane before Maha Kumbh 2033. He also directed to start the process of wildlife clearance and forest clearance etc. for this. He also asked the railways to prepare and provide a traffic management circulation plan for the Kumbh Mela soon. He also asked Rishikesh and Haridwar to be included in the face lifting of railway stations.
The Chief Secretary asked the railways to nominate a fair officer for coordination in meetings related to Kumbh 2027. He said that the railways should also get representation in the upcoming meeting regarding the preparations for Kumbh. He also asked for a mechanism to be prepared for the exchange of information between the railways and the Uttarakhand government.
The Chief Secretary also directed to prepare a mobility plan for the entire state. He said that a plan for the next 50 years should be prepared for all types of transport means and options.
DRM Sangrah Maurya said that the primary survey of the Dehradun Mussoorie railway project has been done, the final location survey will be started soon. He said that the final location survey of the Saharanpur Dehradun project is in progress. He said that the DPR of Harrawala railway station has been approved. The project is yet to be approved. On this occasion, Principal Secretary R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Brijesh Kumar Sant, C. Ravishankar, Resident Commissioner Ajay Mishra, Vice President MDDA and Director General of Information Banshidhar Tiwari along with other senior officials were present.
