CS Radha Raturi gave instructions to take strict legal action against those who defame the Char Dham Yatra and those who make fake news or videos related to the Yatra

Dehradun: While giving instructions for strict legal action against those who defame the Chardham Yatra and those who make fake news or videos related to the Yatra, Chief Secretary Smt Radha Raturi, during the review of Chardham Yatra management in the Secretariat, has clarified that  FIR will be lodged immediately against those who defame the Yatra through fake news or videos. Taking a tough stand on the operation of buses and vehicles without registration and trip card or post-dated registration on the Yatra route, CS Smt. Raturi has given instructions to immediately stop and send back such unregistered buses and vehicles. Along with this, the Chief Secretary has directed the Transport Department to hold a meeting with the tour operators on the issue of vehicles without registration, without trip card or post-dated registration. Vehicles without registration will be identified at the check points established at various places and appropriate action will be taken. In this regard, the Chief Secretary will also send a letter to the Chief Secretaries and Directors General of Police of other states.

With a view to prompt redressal of the problems of the devotees on the spot, Chief Secretary Smt Radha Raturi has issued instructions to the officers to take immediate appropriate action on any complaint of any devotee received on their mobile. She has issued strict instructions to the concerned officers to keep their mobiles open 24 hours and compulsorily listen to the complaints related to the Yatra.

Clarifying the position of the in-charge secretaries posted in the districts for the efficient management of the Char Dham Yatra, CS Smt. Raturi has said that the in-charge secretary will regularly monitor the Yatra from the Secretariat  through the District Administration and District Magistrate etc. and effective coordination will be ensured between the Secretariat and the District Administration.

With a view to better crowd management in the Dhams and traffic management on the Yatra route, CS Smt. Radha Raturi has given instructions to ensure all the necessary facilities like drinking water, toilets and food etc. at the holding places established at various places for the convenience of the devotees on the Yatra route and to ensure the arrangement of live telecast of the Dhams.  The Chief Secretary has especially directed the Rishikesh Municipal Corporation to immediately arrange for the best facilities for the pilgrims in their holding places.

Taking seriously the cases of some pilgrims coming for the Chardham Yatra not providing information about their medical history or giving wrong information during registration, Chief Secretary Smt Radha Raturi has directed the Health Department to strictly follow the rules. She has given strict instructions to focus on the health screening of pilgrims above 50 years of age. The Health Secretary informed that this time 184 doctors have been deployed on the Yatra route. Among them, 44 are specialist doctors. This time Cath Lab has been started in Srinagar Medical College. SOP related to the Yatra has been issued in a total of 11 languages. The Health Department is providing all facilities to the pilgrims, from health checkup to other facilities.

Director General of Police Shri Abhinav Kumar, Principal Secretary Shri RK Sudhanshu, Commissioner Garhwal Shri Vinay Shankar Pandey, Secretary Shri Arvind Singh Hyanki, Shri Sachin Kurve, Shri Dilip Jawalkar and other officers were present in the meeting.
