New Delhi: The Centre on Tuesday inducted two DANICS Cadre officers in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) namely Neeraj Bharti (DANICS: 1995) and Dr T Philip Thanglienmanq (DANICS: 1995) against five vacancies. Three other DANICS officers’ status ascertained as provisional due to integrity issue hence they have not been promoted to IAS rank.
Dr Philip had to file a petition in CAT to get sleepy machinery wake up and had got directions for selection committee meeting regarding his promotion to the IAS rank. The promotion was due since 2021 whereas promotions for the year 2022 & 2023 are still awaited. As against total 20 vacancies of years 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 only 2 getting promoted is too late and too little.
However, finally the luck smiled on Dr Phillip but in a different way. Irony dies a painful death is the most suitable phrase for him who was granted promotion just two days ahead of the retirement. He is scheduled to retire from service day after tomorrow. Had promotions were cleared on time, he would have retired after serving over two years as IAS.
