Dashboard and app will be launched soon for information about cows in Uttarakhand, Gau Sadans will be regularly monitored

Dehradun: The destitute cows roaming on the roads of Uttarakhand are becoming a problem. Many times road accidents are also happening due to these animals, in which people as well as cows get injured. In such a situation, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi held a meeting with the departmental officials to get the public rid of the problem of destitute cows on the roads. In the meeting of Uttarakhand Animal Welfare Board related to the construction of Gau Sadans, CS Raturi directed the Urban Development Department to complete the construction work of 36 Gau Sadans being built in urban areas soon.

Land identified for 26 Gau Sadans in Uttarakhand

At present, the Urban Development Department has identified land for 36 Gau Sadans in 13 districts of the state. Out of this, the construction work of 13 Gau Sadans is going on. During the meeting, CS Radha Raturi directed the Secretary Urban Development Department to review the number of destitute bovine animals roaming on the roads in urban areas every month through municipalities. Along with this, strong arrangements should also be made for its monitoring and sending them to Gau Sadans.

80 rupees per day are being given for adopting destitute bovine animals

The honorarium given to those who adopt destitute bovine animals in Uttarakhand is higher than other states across the country. In the state, 80 rupees are being given per animal per day. The Chief Secretary also directed the Panchayati Raj Department to start the construction work of 26 Gau Sadans to be set up in the rural areas of the state soon. For this, an amount of Rs 10 crore has already been released to the department through the Missing Link Scheme.

Information about the cows will be available in the app and dashboard

At the same time, the Panchayati Raj Department has completed the work of land identification. During the meeting, the CS talked about using modern technology and IT to solve the problem of destitute bovine animals. Under which, along with mandatory geo tagging of all bovine animals in the state, the dashboard and app should be launched soon. The CS has given instructions for data analysis related to the age, medical and other information of every bovine animal in the app and dashboard.

Number of destitute bovine animals in Uttarakhand

The Chief Secretary also gave strict instructions to the officials for continuous monitoring of the operation and maintenance of the under-construction and already operational Gau Sadans. Along with this, instructions were given that there should be adequate arrangements of fodder, straw, light, medical, security and medicines for the cows in the Gau Sadans. For this, the Gau Sadans should also be inspected from time to time. Gau Sevak Yojana is very important in the care of destitute animals. Therefore, it needs to be expanded. According to the Uttarakhand Animal Welfare Board, the number of destitute bovine animals in the state is 20,887.
