Last session was convened in Dehradun: It is worth noting that the last assembly session was convened in Dehradun from 18 February to 24 February. During this time, the controversial statement of the then Parliamentary Affairs Minister Premchand Agarwal from within the House on the issue of hills versus plains also came to the fore. Due to which the atmosphere in the entire state got heated.

Premchand Agarwal had to lose the chair of Parliamentary Affairs Minister: People took to the streets and protested against Premchand Agarwal. Congress tried its best to surround him by making it an issue. The controversy got so heated that finally the Dhami government had to take a tough decision. After which Premchand Agarwal resigned from the cabinet under pressure. While resigning, he became emotional and sobbed.

The government will have to appoint a Parliamentary Affairs Minister: At the same time, now the monsoon session of the assembly is going to be convened, so the government will also have to appoint a Parliamentary Affairs Minister. In such a situation, now the Parliamentary Affairs Minister will have to be appointed to strongly present the side of the government in the assembly. In such a situation, the cabinet can be expanded by making any MLA the Parliamentary Affairs Minister.

If this does not happen, then for the time being, one of the existing ministers can also be given the responsibility of Parliamentary Affairs Minister. In such a situation, now the government will have to give the responsibility of Parliamentary Affairs Minister to someone. Hence, with this the discussion about the Parliamentary Affairs Minister has started gaining momentum.
