Dehradun DM took the meeting of Road Safety Committee, sought report on CCTV camera of ONGC Chowk

Dehradun: A meeting of the district level Road Safety Committee was held today on Saturday 16 November under the chairmanship of Dehradun District Magistrate Savin Bansal. The District Magistrate took many important decisions in the meeting. Along with this, measures to improve road safety and reduce accidents were discussed. At the same time, approval of funds was given on the spot for this.

Also, the District Magistrate has sought information about the causes of road accidents and suggestions from the departments to reduce accidents. Apart from this, District Magistrate Savin Bansal has sought a report within a week on the reasons for no recording in CCTV cameras on Monday night during the Innova accident.

In the meeting, District Magistrate Savin Bansal directed to identify the causes of accidents and prepare an action plan for its improvement. Also, the Public Works Department officials were instructed to present the action plan for 3D marking speed breakers at potential accident sites and other places within a week. For this, the DM approved Rs 30 lakh on the spot.

At the same time, funds were approved from the untied fund for three years’ AMC of some faulty CCTV cameras of the police. For this, the SP Traffic was directed to present a proposal. Also, the district administration has made preparations to install 14 new traffic lights of the traffic police on a zero investment model. The tendering process for this has also been completed. Also, the RTO was directed not to delay zebra crossings and stoppage signs.

District Magistrate Savin Bansal said that instructions were given to get the faulty cameras of Smart City repaired within 10 days and submit a report. Along with this, all the cameras installed in the city area of ​​the district were connected to the Integrated Command and Control System of Smart City and PWD officials were instructed to install high mast lights at Asharodi. Along with this, the police department was instructed to connect the speed monitor cameras to the Integrated Command and Control System of Smart City.
