Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Dehradun Literature Festival at Doon International School on Mohani Road on Saturday. On this occasion, he released the book ‘Leading Ladies of India’ written by Venu Agrahara Dhingra. The Chief Minister said that literature is a powerful medium for expressing emotions, thoughts, and experiences. Literature also plays an important role in social and cultural awareness. He expressed hope that the book ‘Leading Ladies of India’ will inspire readers, especially women, to move forward.
The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is continuously making efforts for women’s empowerment. The demand for products manufactured by women’s self-help groups in the state is continuously increasing. The state government is implementing several schemes to empower women. He said that women’s empowerment is essential for the overall development of society. Today, daughters are doing commendable work in every field. He said that the soul of Uttarakhand resides in its culture. The government is continuously working towards preserving its culture and traditions.
The Chief Minister said that for the past two years, the Uttarakhandi Pravasi Sammelan has been organized in the state. Its primary objective is to keep people connected to their roots. Since the Pravasi Sammelan, many migrants have expressed their desire to contribute to the development of their native villages as well as the state. Geeta Pushkar Dhami, Principal Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, Founder of the Doon International School Group D.S. Mann, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
