Dehradun: Son sold mother’s ancestral land, deposited the money in wife’s account; woman reached DM

Dehradun: Has the greed for property increased so much that even blood relations are proving to be dwarf in front of it. Somewhere the son is forcing his parents to wander from door to door by getting the gift deed of the house done, and somewhere the son and daughter-in-law are fraudulently usurping the ancestral property.

In the latest case, a son along with others cheated his illiterate widow mother and got the land sold by putting his thumb impression on the land document. The mother realized this when the buyers of the land came to take possession. It was found out that the son has also deposited the money of the land sold fraudulently in his wife’s account.

This is the story of 75-year-old woman Sommi Devi of Tehsil Rishikesh. The elderly woman narrated her pain to District Magistrate Savin Bansal. She told that she has 0.3525 hectare land in village Sandharwala of Tehsil Rishikesh. She is the owner of half of this property, while the other half is registered in the name of her son Dharmendra.

The son in collusion fraudulently sold the ancestral land of his mother

In the revenue records, her name is registered jointly with the son. The woman alleges that the son in collusion with some people told her that their share is being separated. So that no legal hurdles arise in future. Her thumb impressions were fraudulently taken on various papers and then they took her to the Tehsil on the pretext of separating the part of the land. She came to know about the sale of the land when a woman named Vijay Laxmi came to take possession of the land.

The woman told that she has not been given any money in lieu of the sale of the land. That amount has been deposited in the account of her son’s wife. The woman has demanded that the fraudulent sale deed be cancelled or status quo be maintained on the land till the case is resolved.

On the complaint of the elderly woman, a report was summoned from the sub-district magistrate Rishikesh. The sub-district magistrate’s report mentions the sale of the land. It is also coming to light that the sale amount has been deposited in the daughter-in-law’s account. A civil suit is also pending in the matter.
