Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a review meeting of Jal Jeevan Mission in the Secretariat. During the meeting, the Chief Minister, while reviewing the progress of Jal Jeevan Mission, directed the officials to supply water along with taps in the houses. The CM said that within the next one month, prepare DPR for water arrangement in such places where water is not reaching and work on the scheme. The CM also directed to verify the taps installed under Jal Jeevan Mission across the state within a month.
During the meeting, CM Dhami said that all such houses should be identified. Where water is not being supplied despite the installation of taps due to any reason, along with geo tagging of such places, instructions were given to send information to the government by clarifying the reasons for non-supply of water. Also keep in mind that potable water reaches the beneficiaries under Jal Jeevan Mission.
The CM also directed the senior officials of the department, District Magistrates and Executive Engineers to conduct on-site inspection of the schemes. Also, ordered an inquiry regarding the training and awareness given to the villagers for water conservation under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Apart from this, the CM also directed to investigate the institutions providing training and the amount released to them.
He expressed strong displeasure over the poor quality of the works of Chunkhet scheme of Pauri district built under Jal Jeevan Mission. He directed to suspend the irresponsible officers concerned with immediate effect on the poor quality of Chunkhet scheme. Along with this, instructions have also been given to take action against the concerned contractor.
Apart from this, the Chief Minister has given instructions to rebuild the scheme by declaring the said scheme as Shramdaan on the poor quality of Vasukinag pumping scheme of Pithoragarh district. The Chief Minister said that all the works to be done under Jal Jeevan Mission should be specially verified. And if negligence or poor quality is found anywhere, then strict action should be taken against it. The CM said in a strict tone that negligence will not be tolerated at any level in the works of public interest in the state.
He further said that the certification of every household Jal Gram should also be done speedily in the state. The schemes approved by the District Committee and the Government should be implemented on the ground within the stipulated time. He said that work should be done as per the standards set in Jal Jeevan Mission. The Chief Minister also directed to resolve the works obstructed due to forest land by holding a separate meeting. The Chief Minister said that it should be ensured that the state government makes arrangements to provide pure drinking water to every citizen of the state.
uring the review of Jal Jeevan Mission, CM Dhami reprimanded the officials and said that before the meeting, the officers should come after doing complete homework. The department heads should keep all types of data with them. The CM said that the officials should have all types of data and analysis related to the department. Under Jal Jeevan Mission, a total of 14.05 lakh families have been connected with water connection so far. A total of 6795 villages have been certified so far under the certification of every household Jal Gram in the state.
