Dhami cabinet approved 5 proposals, the cabinet also approved the introduction of the Uttarakhand Minority Educational Institution Bill in the House

Dehradun: Before the assembly session was convened in Gairsain, some important decisions were taken in the cabinet of the Dhami government. A total of 5 points were brought up for discussion in the cabinet held on Sunday, which were given the green signal. Apart from some bills, it included issues related to UCC registration and minority education. The Dhami government held a cabinet meeting in the secretariat on Sunday, in which various five issues proposed by the secretariat were discussed. Actually, this time the assembly session is going to be held in Gairsain, so before this session, various important issues have been discussed. The Dhami government has taken cabinet approval on these issues before the session, so that these proposals can be given legal form in the House as well.

It was decided in the meeting that the Uttarakhand Minority Educational Institutions Act, 2025 Bill will be introduced in the assembly session. Till now the status of minority educational institution was given only to the Muslim community. Under the proposed bill, now other minority communities like Sikhs, Jains, Christians, Buddhists and Parsis will also get this facility. This will be the first such Act in the country which aims to establish a transparent process for granting recognition to educational institutions established by minority communities in the state. Also to ensure quality and excellence in education.
