Dhami government constituted a 4-member implementation committee under the chairmanship of former IAS Shatrughan Singh regarding UCC, Governor approved

Dehradun: Dhami government has constituted a four-member implementation committee under the chairmanship of former IAS Shatrughan Singh for the effective implementation of the Uniform Civil Code Act, which has been approved by the Governor. This committee will provide guidance and consultation assistance in training, guidance, portal etc. of senior officers and personnel of departments related to the implementation of UCC.

The committee includes Doon University Vice Chancellor Prof. Surekha Dangwal, social worker Manu Gaur, Additional Director General of Police Amit Sinha and Local Commissioner Ajay Mishra. Since, the committee chairman and other key members have been involved in drafting the UCC and making the rules, a big responsibility has also been given in the implementation.

This committee will provide training of bureaucrats, assistance in preparing master trainers and consultation and guidance related to website and mobile app to implement UCC. At present the UCC rules are with the legislature.

Earlier it was expected that after the rules were made, UCC could be implemented in the state as the first state in the country around the State Foundation Day, but the technical aspects of UCC are still under consideration by the legislature. It is believed that UCC will be implemented after being verified by the legislature.
