Dhami government engaged in improving the arrangements of Kainchi Dham, Chief Secretary gave instructions to prepare a master plan on traffic system

Dehradun: The number of devotees visiting Kainchi Dham, located between Almora and Nainital in Uttarakhand, is increasing continuously. Due to which many times traffic jams also arise. In view of this, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan held a meeting with the officials on Tuesday regarding the traffic system at Kainchi Dham. During the meeting, the Chief Secretary directed to prepare a master plan for Kainchi Dham. Along with this, the Chief Secretary said that in view of the jam in Kainchi Dham on weekends, he also asked to prepare a comprehensive plan for it.

The Chief Secretary said that the widening and improvement work of the main road of Kainchi Dham market should be started immediately. He said that budget can be made available for this from the missing link. He said that in view of the possibility of excessive crowd of devotees increasing in Kainchi Dham in the coming time, there is a dire need of a master plan for Kainchi Dham. In view of which the CS directed the officials to prepare a proposal.

The Chief Secretary said that alternative routes should be improved for the local people. The roads which can be widened should be widened. He said that new parking spaces should be identified and developed. A systematic shuttle service should be started for the Dham. Also, a mobility plan should be prepared so that the traffic jam on weekends can be controlled. He said that it should also be ensured that the mobility plan is implemented.

During the meeting, the Chief Secretary emphasized on increasing the use of technology. He said that information should be made available to the passengers through display in parking etc. places. Route and crowd management should be done through CCTV cameras. Also, one-way can be used in various routes.
