Dhami government increases dearness allowance for government employees by 3 percent; find out which employees will benefit

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government has gifted state employees with a 3% increase in dearness allowance. The dearness allowance of state employees has now been increased by 3%, bringing their dearness allowance to 58%. These employees will receive the benefit of this dearness allowance from July.

The state government, led by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, has provided significant relief to employees by approving a 3% increase in dearness allowance. This decision will directly benefit thousands of officers and employees of public bodies, undertakings, and autonomous institutions drawing salaries under the seventh revised pay scale. The new rates will be effective from July 1, 2025.

According to an order issued by the Industrial Development Section-2, the DA of employees has now been increased from 55% to 58%. This decision has been taken in line with the revised rates of the central government. The order clarifies that this increase will apply to state employees, aided educational and training institutions, municipal bodies, local bodies, and full-time and part-time employees.

The government has also clarified that the increased dearness allowance will only apply to those organizations and undertakings whose internal financial resources are capable of bearing the additional expenditure. Based on this, the concerned organizations will have to implement the order after assessing their affordability. Amidst rising inflation, this step will provide financial strength to employees and ensure a direct increase in their monthly salaries.

Employee organizations have expressed satisfaction and gratitude for the government’s decision. State President of the State Corporation Employees Federation, Surya Prakash Rankoti, expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and the government, stating that the government has consistently prioritized the interests of employees. He stated that this three percent increase is a major relief for employees and their families during a time of rising inflation and will ease their financial burden.

State General Secretary of the Federation, Nandlal Joshi, also welcomed the decision. He said that the government has honored the long-standing demand of the employees. He expressed hope that the government will continue to take a positive stance on other pending matters in the future and make decisions in the best interests of employees. This government decision has brought joy to employees across the state.
