Dehradun: The rain and snowfall in Uttarakhand for a fortnight has increased the enthusiasm of people to welcome the new year. In view of the continuous influx of tourists in Uttarakhand, now the Uttarakhand government is also in full preparation mood for the celebration of tourists. This is the reason why preparations are being made to provide special discounts to tourists to celebrate till late night of 31 December.
Tourists have gathered in large numbers at tourist places in Uttarakhand for 31 December and New Year celebrations. Hotels and homestays have been packed at places like Nainital, Mussoorie, Dhanaulti, Chakrata, Chopta, Kausani and Auli 5 days ago. The situation is that due to the jam in Manali and Shimla of Himachal, tourists are turning towards the beautiful valleys of Uttarakhand. In any case, the enthusiasm of tourists has doubled due to snowfall at various hill stations of Uttarakhand two to three times in the last fortnight.
Now that only a few days are left in the New Year, booking of hotels and homestays has been done at many hill stations. Special arrangements have also been made by hotels and restaurants to welcome tourists. On the occasion of New Year, people associated with tourism such as hotel owners, guides, travel agencies, cab drivers, and handicraft sellers are hoping that the arrival of a large number of tourists on the occasion of New Year will increase their income significantly.
Seeing the great enthusiasm of tourists and the expectations of local tourism businessmen, the state government has also started capitalizing on this special occasion. While arrangements are being made to save tourists from traffic jams in many cities, many security measures have also been taken by the state government to increase the enjoyment of tourists. To ensure that tourists can welcome the New Year without any hindrance, the government is also working on giving relaxation to tourists to celebrate till late night on 31 December and 1 January.
Hotels, restaurants will remain open full time for the convenience of tourists
Amid the possibility of a rush of tourists in Uttarakhand on New Year, the government has said that keeping in mind the convenience of tourists, hotels, restaurants and dhabas will remain open all the time. In view of the New Year and snowfall in many places of Uttarakhand, it is believed that tourists will visit Uttarakhand in large numbers. The way hotels and homestays are being booked, it also indicates that Uttarakhand will be bustling with tourists. An order has been issued by Shiv Vibhuti Ranjan, Deputy Secretary, Labor Department, Uttarakhand. The order states that as per the provisions of the Uttarakhand Shops and Establishments (Employment, Regulation and Service Conditions) Act 2017, restaurants, hotels and dhabas etc. have been allowed to remain open 24 hours a day and seven days a week in the state of Uttarakhand. Along with this, all the workers have also been allowed to work in the said establishments in both day and night shifts under certain conditions. It has been said that a large number of tourists are coming to Uttarakhand on the occasion of New Year. Hotel, restaurant and dhaba owners have been appealed to keep their establishments open all the time keeping in mind the convenience of the tourists.
