Dehradun: The Health Authority in the state has started a new system to prevent fraud in the Ayushman scheme. Under which now only those people will be able to take advantage of the Ayushman scheme, whose ration card will be visible on the online portal of the Food Department. Actually, recently the Food Department had canceled ration cards on a large scale. But those whose ration cards were canceled had already got Ayushman cards made through ration cards. Also, they are taking advantage of health facilities through Ayushman cards.
In Uttarakhand, ration card is mandatory for making Ayushman cards under Ayushman Yojana. But thousands of people whose ration cards have been canceled are still taking advantage of health facilities through Ayushman cards. To curb this, the State Health Authority has started a new process, so that this fake one can be curbed. In such a situation, the Uttarakhand State Health Authority has started an initiative so that those people whose ration cards have been canceled do not get the benefit of Ayushman card.
Under which now the State Health Authority has started the process of card verification. Also, the Health Authority is canceling the Ayushman card of such people, whose ration card is not showing online on the portal of the Food Department. Let us tell you that on 25 December 2018, the Uttarakhand government launched the Atal Ayushman Yojana. After which till now Ayushman cards of about 54 lakh people have been made. Out of these, about 12.5 lakh people have availed the benefit of Ayushman card. The government has so far spent about Rs 2300 crore on free treatment under the Ayushman scheme.
Under the food scheme in the state, ration cards can be made only for those families whose annual income is less than five lakh rupees. But many people got ration cards made by showing fake documents to get ration cards. After the matter came to light, the Food Department had run a campaign in the financial year 2023-24 and canceled the ration cards of about one lakh people. Whose family’s annual income was more than five lakh rupees. Due to which the names of these people were removed from the ration card portal of the Food Department. While these people are also taking advantage of the Ayushman card, to curb which the State Health Authority has started the process of verification. Also, the Ayushman card of those whose ration card is not visible online is being canceled.
