Dhami government provides relief to apple growers in the disaster-affected Dharali region, announces minimum support price for apples; CM directs immediate implementation of the announcement.

Dehradun: The Horticulture Department will purchase Royal Delicious apples from the Dharali region at Rs. 51 per kg, and Red Delicious apples and other apples at Rs. 45 per kg.

Immediate implementation of the announcement directed

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced that the government will purchase apples from the disaster-affected Dharali village and surrounding areas in Uttarkashi district. According to the Chief Minister’s announcement, Royal Delicious apples from Dharali and its surrounding areas will be purchased at Rs. 51 per kg, and Red Delicious apples and other apples (excluding Grade C apples) at Rs. 45 per kg through the Horticulture Department. The necessary funds for this will be arranged from the Chief Minister’s announcement fund.

In a circular issued by the Chief Minister’s Office in this regard, the Secretary of the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department has been directed to ensure immediate action and issue a government order for financial and administrative approval. The Chief Minister has also been requested to be informed immediately about the actual status of compliance with the said announcement.
