Dehradun: Questions have often been raised about health facilities in Uttarakhand. Recently, after the death of the son of a soldier father in Bageshwar, questions are being raised continuously on health facilities in the state. In such a situation, now the Uttarakhand government is preparing to bring changes in the health system. Under which, along with the appointment of Health Commissioner, action is being considered to create the post of Deputy Director Administration in medical colleges on the lines of AIIMS.
In fact, on the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Principal Secretary Chief Minister RK Sudhanshu held a meeting with the Secretary and senior officials of the Health Department on Saturday. During the meeting, the Principal Secretary took the recent incidents seriously and directed to submit a detailed report by fixing the responsibility of all concerned for any kind of negligence and disorder.
The Principal Secretary directed to set up a helpdesk in all important hospitals including all district hospitals. There will be mandatory presence of PRO at these helpdesks, who will provide assistance to patients and their attendants. The Chief Secretary directed to deploy a district level administrative officer in the district hospital and sub-district hospitals on roster basis through the district administration. Instructions have also been given to improve the system of Ayushman Help Desk (Ayushman Mitra) available in all the hospitals.
The Chief Secretary said that the need for a Health Commissioner in the state should also be considered. For this, a proposal should be sent to the government. Similarly, considering the need for Deputy Director Administration in all medical colleges, the AIIMS model should be tested. He also talked about developing a system for online slot booking of OPD etc. to control the crowd in hospitals and for the convenience of patients.
