Under the leadership of CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, action has been taken in the state for the past few years through strict land laws, anti-cheating laws, anti-riot provisions, and special campaigns against illegal encroachments. The government claims that the objective of these steps is not to target any particular community, but to protect government land, public property, and the socio-cultural fabric of the state.
Government orchard land freed in Gadarpur
In this sequence, an illegal construction built on government orchard land in the Gadarpur area of Udham Singh Nagar district was demolished by the administration early in the morning at around 5 am. According to the administration, the concerned party was first issued a notice and given two weeks’ time, but valid documents were not submitted. After the stipulated time limit was over, this action was taken as per the rules. Besides this, a bulldozer was recently used on an illegal structure in the Haridwar Road area of Dehradun.
More than 570 illegal encroachments removed
According to government figures, more than 570 illegal structures have been removed across the state during the tenure of the Dhami government so far. Along with this, more than 10,000 acres of government land have been freed from encroachment. The administration says that this campaign is not limited to demolishing illegal structures, but its objective is to make government land available again for the public and development works. The land that has been reclaimed will be used in the future for projects related to tourism development, infrastructure expansion, public facilities, and job creation for the youth. The government says that any kind of illegal encroachment on the land of Uttarakhand, regardless of the pretext, will not be tolerated.
Action will continue
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has repeatedly stated that protecting the identity, culture, and land of Devbhoomi (the land of the gods) is the government’s top priority. The law is the same for everyone, and no one is above the rules. Administrative action will continue, and illegal encroachments will be dealt with strictly.
