“Dhami Government’s Good Governance Model: Over 1.35 Lakh People Directly Benefited in 204 Camps – ‘Government Reaches the People’s Doorstep’”

Dehradun: Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Uttarakhand government’s “Government for the People, at the People’s Doorstep” program has emerged as a powerful symbol of good governance, sensitive administration, and swift problem-solving in the state. This program is not only an example of a qualitative change in administrative functioning but has also effectively bridged the gap between the government and the common citizen. The daily progress report of the program held on January 2, 2026, clearly shows that the state government is now moving beyond paper plans and successfully delivering real results at the ground level.

A total of 204 public service camps were organized in all 13 districts of the state on a single day, in which more than 135,194 citizens participated directly. Such widespread public participation confirms that this program is connected to the real needs of the people and has been embraced by them with complete trust. Through these camps, the government and administration reached the people’s doorstep for the first time, eliminating the need for citizens from rural, hilly, and remote areas to travel to district or tehsil headquarters to get their problems resolved.

During the program, a total of 17,747 complaints and applications were received, out of which 12,776 cases were resolved on the spot or through prompt action. This figure shows that approximately three-quarters of the problems were resolved immediately, which is clear evidence of administrative efficiency, decision-making ability, and accountability. The remaining cases have also been sent to the concerned departments under a time-bound action plan and are being continuously monitored to ensure that no complaint remains pending.

A total of 19,734 applications related to income, caste, residence, social category, and other necessary certificates were received in these camps. This clearly shows that common citizens are no longer facing unnecessary delays or formalities for basic services. This initiative by the government to bring services closer to the citizens has proven extremely beneficial, especially for people living in poverty, marginalized communities, and remote areas.

In addition, a total of 77,203 citizens received direct benefits under various public welfare schemes. This number is concrete proof that the schemes are no longer limited to mere announcements but are actually reaching the eligible beneficiaries. By making social security, pensions, health, education, and other welfare schemes available on a single platform, the government has strengthened both public convenience and transparency.

At the heart of this program’s success are the clear, strict, and results-oriented instructions given by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. From the outset, the Chief Minister ensured that officials went to the field themselves to resolve problems instead of calling the public to their offices. He mandated the presence of decision-making officials at every camp and instructed that complaints be resolved at the primary level. Instructions such as regular monitoring of pending cases at the district and state levels, prioritizing vulnerable groups, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and citizens in remote areas, and holding negligent officials accountable, have made the administrative system more responsive and proactive.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said, “’Government for the People, at the People’s Doorstep’ is a campaign that is changing the approach to governance in Uttarakhand. Our government believes that democracy is strengthened only when the government reaches out to the people. Through this program, we have ensured that even the person standing in the last row can avail of government schemes and services without any hindrance. This is not just a program, but the Uttarakhand Model of Good Governance based on trust, solutions, and sensitivity.”

The Chief Minister said that through this comprehensive campaign, not only has public trust in the administration been strengthened, but middlemen and corruption have also been effectively curbed. The establishment of direct communication between the government and the public has fostered a culture of quick problem-solving, and there has been a significant increase in the transparency and credibility of governance. The “Government for the People, at the People’s Doorstep” program has become a new symbol of good governance in Uttarakhand and will prove to be a milestone in the state’s development and public welfare in the future.
