Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has advised the public representatives of all the municipal bodies of the state not to see their role as just a post. Rather adopt it as a mission of public service. All the people of the society should get the benefit of the schemes and works being run by the triple engine government. For this, all the public representatives should develop their respective body office not only as an administrative unit but also as a service center. Where people come without hesitation, with full confidence.

In fact, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday interacted with the public representatives of all the municipal corporations and municipalities of the state in the city se samvad program organized by the Urban Development Department at the Chief Servant House. Along with this, the CM also launched three web portals prepared by the Urban Development Department to help women self-help groups. During the dialogue program, the CM told the public representatives that they should constantly monitor those works themselves, in which there is a high possibility of corruption. Your vigilance at the administrative level can become the biggest guarantee of good governance.

Also said that adopt a zero tolerance policy towards corruption and give a clear message to your subordinate officers and employees that corrupt conduct will not be tolerated at any level. Our responsibility is not only to remain in power. Rather, our real responsibility is to serve the public. During the program, the CM will request the Government of India to digitize the offices of municipal bodies, build silver jubilee parks, create vending zones in municipal bodies, untie the tied fund. Also, he announced to run a training program for local men and women to open 10 high-tech hair salons/parlors in every municipal corporation, 5 in Nagar Palika and 3 in Nagar Panchayat in the state.

While talking to the public representatives of the municipal bodies, the CM said that urban government, municipal corporations and municipalities are the soul of any city. They not only work to provide basic facilities to the public. But also play an important role in deciding the direction and condition of a city. The Chief Minister said that a lot still remains to be done. The problem of drainage remains in many cities. Also, the garbage management system in cities needs to be improved further. Traffic jam has now become a common challenge in cities. To control which, local bodies will also have to make efforts.
