Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday launched Hello Haldwani 91.2 FM Community Radio Mobile App from the Chief Minister’s Camp Office. He said that this is an important initiative in the field of education and culture of Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand Open University has done remarkable work towards taking education to remote areas and promoting innovation with modern technology. He expressed confidence that now the Community Radio Hello Haldwani App will reach every corner of the country and the state and further strengthen the voice of society and culture.
The Chief Minister said that education is not only a means of obtaining a degree, but is the basis of giving direction to life and self-reliance. Under this thinking, Higher Education and Skill Development Centers are being established in all 13 districts of the state, so that the youth will not only get education but will also be able to learn employment skills. The Chief Minister said that when the university and skill development center work together, the youth of Uttarakhand will become job givers rather than job seekers, and this effort will ensure the important role of the state in realizing the resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a self-reliant India.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has decided to establish a major center of Uttarakhand Open University in Dehradun. This center will not only be a hub of education and training, but will also become a major center for research, innovation and digital education.
Vice Chancellor of Uttarakhand Open University Prof. Naveen Chandra Lohani apprised about the various activities of the university and presented a check of 01 lakh 49 thousand to the Chief Minister on behalf of the university for the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for disaster relief.
On this occasion, Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Director General UCOST Prof. Durgesh Pant, Registrar Uttarakhand Open University Khemraj Bhatt and other officials of the university were present.
