Dhami participated virtually in Mostamanu Mahotsav, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 15 development projects of Pithoragarh worth more than Rs 62 crore

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in Mostamanu Mahotsav through virtual medium on Thursday. On this occasion, 15 development projects costing more than Rs 62 crore were inaugurated and laid the foundation stone under Pithoragarh district. This includes the inauguration and foundation stone laying of various development schemes related to health, education, drinking water and tourism.

The Chief Minister said in his address that the fair of Mostamanu is a symbol of our faith, belief, and rich traditions. It is not only a religious or traditional event, but an integral part of our social and cultural life, which also reflects the specialties of our rural life related to agriculture and animal husbandry. Such events also prove helpful in preserving our rich traditions and passing them on to future generations. The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, remarkable work is being done towards the preservation and promotion of our religious and cultural heritage. Under his guidance, the state government is continuously working for the overall development of Uttarakhand as well as for the reconstruction of religious places and to protect our identity. Like Kedarkhand, the work of revival and beautification of the mythological temples of Kumaon located in Manaskhand is also being done. The Chief Minister said that various works have been done for the beautification of this holy place at a cost of about Rs 1 crore. Beautification work of Haat Kalika Temple in Gangolihat is being done at a cost of more than 6 crores. Modern parking spaces are also being constructed near Bajeti Shani Temple, Hanuman Temple and Lakshmi Narayan Temple at a cost of Rs 43 crore. The government is working with full commitment to ensure the overall development of the entire region including Pithoragarh district through various projects. The Chief Minister said that the building of Pithoragarh Medical College is being constructed at a cost of more than seven hundred and fifty crores. Construction work of a 50-bed critical care block is also being done at the Medical College Pithoragarh at a cost of about 21 crores. Along with the construction of new bus stations in Askot, Gangolihat and Dharchula at a cost of Rs 25 crore, construction work of roadways workshop has also been done in Pithoragarh. Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, construction work of various roads in the area is also in progress at a cost of more than Rs 327 crore. Pithoragarh is connected to Haldwani, Dehradun and Delhi by air service. An MoU has been signed between the Airport Authority and the State Government to develop the Pithoragarh airport in a modern form at a cost of Rs 450 crore, on which work will be started soon. The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the countrymen that all Indians should use indigenous products as much as possible, so that the resolve of self-reliant India can become even stronger. He expressed happiness that many stalls of our indigenous products have been set up in this fair, showcasing the products made by our local artisans, craftsmen, farmers and women groups. He appealed to the people of the state to adopt the mantra of “Adopt Swadeshi, Make the Country Strong” and use indigenous products as much as possible.

The Chief Minister made various announcements for Pithoragarh district on this occasion. He said that treatment work will be done to prevent landslides from the hill located in Gram Sabha Devat Purchauda of Bin development block. Protective work will be done on the Naini Saini-Devat Purchauda-Kumdar to Kanari motor road. Eco park and Smriti Van will be built in Chandak. Beautification of Mostamanu temple will be done. Double cutting of the road from Ghantakarn to Chandak in Pithoragarh city area will be done. Road construction work will be done from village Halpati to Mostamanu. City garden will be constructed near Naini Saini airport.

On this occasion, BJP District President Girish Joshi, former District Panchayat President Deepika Bora, Superintendent of Police Rekha Yadav, Mayor Municipal Corporation Kalpana Devlal, DFO Ashutosh Singh, Fair Committee President Virendra Committee officials including Bora and a large number of devotees were present.
