Gairsain: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed all the foreign diplomats and renowned yogacharyas while participating in the program organized on the eve of International Yoga Day in Bhararisain, Gairsain on Friday. During this, he also honored everyone by giving symbols and Uttarakhandi cap. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed the ambassadors and other high officials present from Mexico, Fiji, Nepal, Suriname, Mongolia, Latvia, Sri Lanka and Russia and said that Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is the global capital of Yoga and AYUSH. International Yoga Day is celebrated all over the world on the leadership and request of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In 2014, on the request of the Prime Minister, more than 177 countries recognized International Yoga Day in the United Nations.
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had described this decade as the decade of Uttarakhand from the land of Baba Kedarnath. He said his words are a declaration of inspiration, direction and resolve for us. He said the Prime Minister has a special vision towards AYUSH and wellness sector. He said work is being done to make Uttarakhand emerge as a global centre of yoga. The Chief Minister said Uttarakhand has a Himalayan environment, pure climate, and is suitable for spiritual meditation and yoga. Our state has full potential to become a global wellness destination. The Chief Minister said that yoga and Ayurveda have been deeply embedded in our culture for centuries.
