Dehradun: Vigilance will now investigate financial irregularities at Uttarakhand Ayurveda University. Upon government request, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has granted permission for an open investigation by Vigilance. These irregularities were committed through misuse of administrative and financial authority. A total of ₹13.10 crore in financial irregularities have been identified.
Large-scale promotions of employees at Uttarakhand Ayurveda University were made against the rules. Additionally, recruitments were made for positions not previously approved by the university. Furthermore, various construction projects were also carried out without government permission. This matter came to light during an investigation by the Finance Department. The investigation revealed irregularities totaling ₹13.10 crore (approximately $1.3 billion) in various works, ranging from salaries to construction expenses.
The government recommended a vigilance investigation into this matter. The matter was presented to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday for approval. The Chief Minister granted permission for an open vigilance investigation and also approved the file. A vigilance investigation will soon begin in this matter. It is worth noting that the Ayurveda University has been embroiled in controversy several times before.
