Khatima: It has been raining heavily in many districts of the state since yesterday. At the same time, the Meteorological Department had also issued an alert of heavy rain for the next 24 hours. Due to heavy rains, all the drains including the rainy river Jagbuda Huddi in Banbasa area of Champawat district are in spate, due to which many rural areas have been submerged. On Monday, CM Pushkar Dhami visited the flood-affected areas of Banbasa. Also, instructed the officials to provide all possible help and relief to the disaster affected people.
Some areas of Banbasa are currently flooded: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had arrived on a tour of his home area Khatima on Sunday evening. First of all, on Monday morning, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the anniversary program of Khatima firing incident. After this, he visited Banbasa of his assembly constituency Champawat. Some areas of Banbasa are currently flooded.
CM Dhami landed on ground zero: CM Dhami along with district administrative officials conducted a field inspection of Chandni area of Banbasa. Because the water of the rainy Huddi river had overflowed and entered these areas, due to which flood-like conditions were created here. Rivers in spate due to heavy rains: CM Dhami talked to the disaster affected people and listened to their problems. Apart from this, CM Dhami also took information about the relief and rescue operations of the police, SDRF and water police. The CM said that there is a heavy rain alert in the entire state today. In Banbasa area of his assembly Champawat, many areas have also been submerged due to the overflowing of rivers due to heavy rains. Therefore, today he visited the Banbasa disaster affected areas and gave necessary instructions to the officials.
CM Dhami assured the disaster victims: The CM said that the state government is currently standing with the people affected by the disasters coming across the state. Apart from relief and rescue, every possible help is being done to them. He himself is monitoring the relief and rescue operations going on in the disaster affected areas.
Let us tell you that the Meteorological Department has also issued an alert of heavy rain in the state yesterday. In view of the warning of the Meteorological Department, the police-administration is on alert. In many districts of the state like Pithoragarh, Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi, the district administration has ordered holiday for classes 1 to 12 and Anganwadi centres.
