Dhami’s announcement – Helicopter service for Kedarnath will start again from tomorrow, pilgrims will get 25% discount…

Dehradun: On the night of 31 July 2024, a landslide occurred on the Kedarnath foot journey route due to heavy rains. The landslide did not happen at one place, but at many places on the entire journey route. At many places, 100 meters of road was washed out. Many pilgrims were stranded on Kedarnath Dham and Yatra route. Since then, the rescue of the passengers is going on for 6 consecutive days. The government is taking the help of 5 helicopters, MI-17 and Chinook for rescue. Therefore, the Kedarnath Yatra was banned till now due to the disaster. But now the government has taken a big decision and decided to start the Kedarnath Yatra from 7 August (Wednesday).

In the announcement issued regarding Kedarnath Yatra, the Dhami government has announced to smoothen the Kedarnath Yatra. However, this journey can be done only and only by helicopter. This announcement was made by CM Dhami while talking to the media during his Rudraprayag tour today. CM Dhami said, ‘For the devotees who have booked their tickets and have come to Uttarakhand, this journey will start from tomorrow. We want the journey to start as soon as possible. So that the devotees can visit Baba Kedar. Devotees are away from God for a week. In such a situation, till the road is not repaired, devotees will be able to visit Kedarnath Dham only through helicopter’.

Big discount in heli service

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has made another big announcement for the devotees traveling to Kedarnath. CM Dhami said that the devotees who have reached or want to go to Kedarnath Dham in Rishikesh, Haridwar and Rudraprayag will be given a discount of 25 percent in the helicopter fare. The fare of this 25 percent discount will be borne by the state government. Not only this, in the coming one week, we will try to send devotees to Kedarnath Dham by foot as well. We want to remove the fear from the minds of devotees in any way that Kedarnath Yatra is not safe. Such a successful rescue was possible after such a big disaster because all the agencies have done their job well.

This information came to light after inspection

After conducting terrestrial and aerial inspection in Rudraprayag, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that there are 29 such points at the places from where the devotees had reached Kedarnath Dham during the Kedarnath Yatra, where the road has been completely destroyed due to excessive landslides. Not only this, a 150 meter stretch of the road has completely submerged in the river. Chief Minister Dhami said that during this disaster, this entire area has suffered a lot of damage. Information about this entire incident is being given to the central government. The central government is with the state government in this hour of disaster.
