Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Sunday that the state government will make the ‘nine requests’ made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the people and tourists of the state on the State Foundation Day the basis of development.

In a statement issued here, the Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister has shown his affection towards the state by expressing concern over the dialect of Uttarakhand, from the preservation of languages ​​to migration and the state government will move forward considering the ‘nine requests’ of the Prime Minister as the basic mantra of development.

In his video message on the occasion of Uttarakhand entering its silver jubilee year on Saturday, the Prime Minister had made five requests to the people of the state and four to the tourists and pilgrims visiting the state. The Prime Minister urged the people of Uttarakhand to teach their future generations dialects like Garhwali, Kumauni, Jaunsari etc. for their identity, plant ‘one tree in the name of mother’ to protect the environment and reduce the impact of climate change, speed up the campaign for water cleanliness by conserving their water sources, keep visiting their villages and convert their old houses into ‘homestays’ to generate income.

The Prime Minister also appealed to the tourists visiting Uttarakhand to avoid single-use plastic in the Himalayas, spend at least five percent of their travel expenses on purchasing local products under ‘Vocal for Local’ while visiting the mountains, follow traffic rules and follow the decorum of pilgrimage sites.

In this regard, the Chief Minister said that the Uttarakhand government will make the Prime Minister’s requests the basis of policies and will work on all these through public cooperation.
