Dhami’s announcement – Relief package will be given to the disaster affected on the lines of Dharali and Tharali, said – Our government stands with the disaster affected in the hour of disaster

Dehradun: The affected people of Pauri disaster will also be given relief package on the lines of Dharali and Tharali. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced this on Tuesday. He said that those whose houses have been completely damaged in the disaster in Pauri will be given financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh. Along with this, the families of the deceased will also be given financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh each.

In the review meeting of the Disaster Management Department, the CM said that out of this, the amount provided under the standards of SDRF will be given from the SDRF head, the remaining amount will be given from the Chief Minister’s Discretionary Fund. The Chief Minister directed the administration to take action in this regard soon and provide financial assistance. Let us tell you that on August 6, there was a lot of damage due to landslides in Village Saanji, Patti Bali Kandarsyun and Village Raidul, Patti Padulsyun under Pauri Tehsil due to heavy rains. Residential buildings and agricultural land were extensively damaged.

Team of experts will go to Pauri

The Chief Minister directed to send a team of experts to Tharali to study the causes of the disaster that occurred on August 22. He said that like Dharali, it is necessary to conduct a comprehensive survey of the disaster that occurred in Tharali to find out why such incidents are happening in the Himalayan region. Why and how so much debris is flowing down with the water. Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Vinod Kumar Suman said that in line with the instructions of the CM, experts from Geological Survey of India, Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee, Uttarakhand Landslide Reduction and Management Center, Central Water Commission and Irrigation Department will soon visit Tharali. In this regard, a letter has also been sent to all the institutions by Additional Secretary Anand Swaroop on Tuesday. Experts will study the causes of floods and landslides and suggest mitigation measures. The concerned institutions have been asked to nominate one subject expert from each institution and report immediately to the District Magistrate Chamoli.

The Chief Minister said that the state government stands firmly with the disaster affected. Be it Dharali, Tharali, Syanachatti or Pauri, relief and rescue operations were carried out on a war footing everywhere. The response time has been commendable. He praised the work being done during the disaster by the District Magistrates of Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pauri. He said that the disaster affected are our own people, not only the state government but also the central government is standing firmly with them.
