Dehradun: While brainstorming on various challenges in the Uttarakhand Police Department, the Director General of Police held a review meeting on several subjects. During this, the implementation of the new criminal law, winter Char Dham Yatra, municipal elections and preparations for the 38th National Games were discussed. For which instructions were also given to make complete preparations for these in the police department.
Uttarakhand Police has geared up to deal with the upcoming challenges in Uttarakhand. During this, the preparation of the police during the organization of the 38th National Games including conducting the municipal elections in a peaceful manner in the state was discussed. Director General of Police Deepam Seth, while holding a review meeting on various subjects, asked the police officers to complete the necessary preparations and take steps. During the review meeting, the implementation of the new criminal law, winter Char Dham Yatra, municipal elections, campaign against illegal encroachment and preparations for the 38th National Games including prevention of drug trafficking were discussed.
Instructions were given to comply with various main provisions regarding the implementation of the new criminal law. In fact, the new law also gave instructions for Zero FIR, e-FIR, inspection of forensic team at the scene in serious crimes, uploading evidence digitally and completing various actions on time. Apart from this, instructions were also given to pay attention to the quality of data entry to make better use of data analytics and AI.
The Director General of Police also issued orders to the officers to conduct the municipal elections in a peaceful manner. In this, instructions have also been given to visit sensitive areas and polling stations, ensure 100 percent compliance of the model code of conduct, continue checking campaigns at various places. Instructions were also given to alert the intelligence system of the districts and monitor social media and take strict action against those spreading rumors.
Similarly, the preparation for the National Games was also discussed in the meeting. In this, along with streamlining the traffic system, it has been asked to prepare a plan on security arrangements as well. It was directed to make a special action plan for the safety of players and spectators during the games. Instructions were also given to prepare a traffic plan at the venue, hotels and transport routes along with ensuring parking arrangements. A quick response team will also be prepared to deal with any emergency. For this, it has also been asked to use all the important equipment.
In view of the number of devotees recruited in the winter yatra, it has been asked to manage the facilities of the tourists on the new year. Especially instructions have been issued to execute the traffic control plan in a better way, while instructions have also been given to do extensive publicity for it through social media.
It has also been asked to speed up the campaign against drug trafficking and fix accountability for it. Similarly, instructions have been issued to take strict action against drivers who do not follow the rules to prevent road accidents. It has also been asked to make a detailed action plan for this by identifying accident prone areas.
