Uttarkashi: In Yamunotri, the first major pilgrimage place of Chardham, about 3.29 lakh devotees took a dip in the Yamuna river Tapt Kund in a month and worshiped Mother Yamuna and took darshan. Yamunotri Temple Committee has earned more than 23 lakhs from these devotees through donation box and receipt book. Temple Committee Chairman SDM Brijesh Kumar Tiwari said that Chardham Yatra is being conducted in a better and systematic manner. Due to which the income of the temple committee is increasing along with the increasing number of devotees.
Chardham Yatra: 12% less devotees came in the first month
This year, fewer pilgrims came in the first month of Chardham Yatra as compared to last year. SDC Foundation has revealed this by analyzing comparative data of two years. According to the organization, a total of 17,17,619 devotees reached Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri, Gangotri and Hemkund Sahib in the first month of the Yatra this year. In the same period in 2024, 19,56,269 pilgrims had arrived. This shows a total decline of 2,38,650, which is 12 percent of the total number of pilgrims. This decline is more clearly seen in the Dham-wise analysis. This year 6,49,161 pilgrims reached Kedarnath. Last year this number was 7,48,348. That is, a decline of 13 percent was registered.
As against 4,72,065 in 2024, 4,57,409 pilgrims visited Badrinath this year, which shows a decrease of three percent. This year 3,02,713 devotees reached Yamunotri, which often faces obstacles due to geographical complexities. Whereas in 2024 this number was 3,46,545. In this way 11% fewer devotees came here. Gangotri registered the sharpest decline. In 2025, 2,93,228 pilgrims arrived while in 2024 this figure was 3,39,892, which shows a decrease of 14 percent.
