Dehradun: Electric Vehicle Policy 2025 will be ready soon in Uttarakhand. For this, a draft was presented before the Chief Secretary in the Secretariat. On which various points were also discussed in detail. Instructions were given to add incentive provisions in the policy. So that the purchase of electric vehicles can be promoted in the state.
Work on Electric Vehicle Policy 2025: Efforts are being made to promote the use of electric vehicles across the country for environmental protection. In this episode, a target has been set to use 30 percent electric vehicles across the country by the year 2030. It is obvious that Uttarakhand will also have to play its part to meet the target taken at the national level. In view of this, the Uttarakhand government is now working on the Electric Vehicle (Manufacturing and Purchasing) Policy 2025.
In fact, the state government has done its homework regarding this policy and this policy is expected to be implemented in the next one month. In this regard, the draft of Electric Vehicle Policy 2025 was presented in the presence of Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan in the Secretariat. Various points of the EV policy being prepared with the aim of creating an electric vehicle-friendly ecosystem in Uttarakhand were also discussed in detail.
Incentive provisions will also be added to the policy: Along with the idea of green transportation in Uttarakhand, instructions have been given to add incentive provisions to the policy. The Chief Secretary said that to promote electric vehicles in the state, it is necessary to make provision through policy in the form of incentives to the manufacturers as well as users. So that, people show interest in adopting it.
Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan also clarified that along with giving better incentives, efforts should also be made for quick resolution of the obstacles coming in the way of electric vehicle. Along with this, its monitoring system should also be improved. During this, provision of incentives like capital subsidy, stamp duty, interest subsidy, land rebate and research and development facility can be made.
