Ex-IAS Ashok Kundra Donates Rs 2 Crore For Poor Patients To PGI Chandigarh

New Delhi:  a retired IAS officer, Mr. Ashok Kundra, donated a sum of Rs. 2 crores as the highest individual donation to the Post Graduate Institute (PGI) Chandigarh’s Poor Patients Welfare Fund (PPWF).

Ex-IAS Ashok Kundra (82 M) donated the lumpsum in memory of his deceased father, Late Atma Ram Kundra, to provide help to poor and needy patients needing treatment for non-terminable diseases. He said, “I have asked the PGI to create an endowment of the amount and the interest to be used annually. I had been associated with a company that used to donate to the PGI every year under CSR. As I was instrumental in that donation, I decided to donate my savings to the PGI as well. I have seen many poor patients in the hospital who have been desperately looking for financial help.”

Dr. Vivek Lal, Director at PGI Chandigarh, said, “This generous donation will enable us to reach out to more underprivileged individuals and ensure they receive the medical attention they deserve. Such acts of kindness reaffirm our faith in humanity and inspire us to continue our mission of providing high-quality healthcare to all.”
