Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced that the amount given to the families of the martyrs will be increased from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 50 lakh. CM Dhami has made this big announcement on the silver jubilee of Kargil Day. Along with this, Pushkar Singh Dhami has made more announcements. He has announced that now the families of the martyrs can apply for government jobs for 5 years, not 2 years.
In fact, today CM Pushkar Singh Dhami remembered the immortal sons who defeated the enemies and hoisted the tricolor on the peak of Kargil on the twenty-fifth anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas in Dehradun. On this occasion, the CM said that the state government is fully dedicated to the welfare of the soldiers.
Parents will also get benefits along with wife
CM Dhami, while remembering the immortal sons who defeated the enemies with indomitable courage, valor and bravery and hoisted the tricolor on the peak of Kargil, said, ‘There will be no disagreement on the grant amount given to the soldiers. We are working on ensuring that their parents and wife also get the benefit of this.’
Facilities for dependents in jobs too
CM Dhami further said that till now the dependents of the martyrs used to get appointment only when the posts of Group C and D were vacant in the District Magistrate’s office, but now vacancies will be given on the posts of the said group in other departments as well. Contract workers working in the Sainik Welfare Department will be given leave equivalent to that of Upanal workers.
75 soldiers of Uttarakhand were martyred
On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, CM Dhami said, ‘Salute to the brave martyrs who sacrificed their all in the Kargil war. You will always be alive in our memories. The victory saga of Kargil is not complete without the discussion of the brave soldiers of Uttarakhand. In this war, 75 soldiers of Veer Bhumi were martyred. In the war, our brave soldiers gave a tough fight to the enemies. The Indian Army is one of the most powerful armies in the world. While the Indian Army won the Kargil war, we also won this war on the table under the leadership of the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
