Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken serious note of the suicide of a farmer from Kashipur in Udham Singh Nagar district in Haldwani and ordered a magisterial inquiry. Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat has been entrusted with the investigation.
The Chief Minister said that all the facts and circumstances of this incident should be investigated in a fair and transparent manner so that the truth can come to light. If any negligence or fault is found at any level, strict action will be taken against those responsible. The Chief Minister has also sought information about the entire incident from Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan and Director General of Police Deepam Seth.
The CM expressed his deepest condolences to the family of the deceased farmer and said that the government stands with the family in this difficult time. He instructed the administration to provide all possible assistance to the bereaved family and take all necessary steps to ensure justice.
