Former IRS Arbind Modi Named Chief Advisor (Fiscal) in Punjab Finance Dept

The Punjab government has appointed retired IRS officer Arbind Modi as the Chief Advisor (Fiscal) in the Department of Finance on an honorary basis. Mr. Modi, a distinguished tax expert and former IRS official, hails from Odisha and brings extensive experience from his tenure at the Union Ministry of Finance and the IMF.

In recognition of his role, Mr. Modi will enjoy the rank of Cabinet Minister within the Punjab government. He will receive travel allowance, daily allowance, and reimbursement of expenses as per established norms for Cabinet Ministers. Additionally, the state government will provide him with residential accommodation, secretarial support, and an official vehicle to facilitate his advisory responsibilities.
