Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid tribute to the country’s first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Bipin Rawat, on his fourth death anniversary. At a ceremony held at Kanak Chowk in Dehradun, the Chief Minister paid floral tributes to his statue, remembering his indomitable courage and leadership.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday paid heartfelt tributes to the country’s first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Bipin Rawat, on his fourth death anniversary. At a special ceremony held at the park in Dehradun’s Kanak Chowk, the Chief Minister paid tribute to General Rawat by laying a wreath at his statue.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Dhami, remembering General Rawat’s personality and achievements, described him as a pride of Uttarakhand and the entire country. He said that General Rawat’s life is an example of discipline, patriotism, and dedication that will always be remembered.
An Inspiration for Youth
In his address, the Chief Minister stated that General Rawat’s indomitable courage and leadership skills will continue to inspire future generations to serve the nation. He added that his supreme dedication to the nation is a source of inspiration for every citizen. During the event, the Chief Minister, along with public representatives, veterans, and common citizens, observed a two-minute silence and prayed for the departed soul.
Commitment to the Honor of Soldiers
During the tribute meeting, CM Dhami reiterated his state government’s complete commitment to honoring martyrs and soldiers. Describing Uttarakhand as a land of the military, he said that honoring the brave is both a tradition and a priority for the state.
