Dehradun: These days, wild animals are terrorizing Uttarakhand. Reports of bear and leopard attacks are coming in daily. Pauri, Rudraprayag, and Uttarkashi districts are particularly vulnerable. The issue of wild animal attacks in Uttarakhand was raised in the country’s Parliament. Garhwal MP Anil Baluni raised the issue of wild animal attacks in the Lok Sabha today.
Garhwal MP Anil Baluni said that citizens are continuously losing their lives and being injured due to wild animal attacks in Uttarakhand. Villagers leaving their homes, children going to school, and women going to the forest are not without danger. This requires quick and effective strategy and action. He raised this issue in the Lok Sabha.
Garhwal MP Anil Baluni today seriously raised the issue of the increasing wild animal attacks in the mountainous regions of Uttarakhand, especially in the Garhwal Lok Sabha constituency, over the past few days. Garhwal MP Anil Baluni said, “A few days ago, I raised this issue with Union Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Minister Bhupendra Yadav, so that immediate and effective action could be taken to address these increasing attacks.”
Anil Baluni informed the Lok Sabha that four people have died in the last three weeks. He added that there has been an increase in human-wildlife conflict cases in the past few weeks. Fifteen people have been injured in incidents of human-wildlife conflict in the past three weeks. Bear attacks have also suddenly increased. Bear attacks are not usually common during these times. People have stopped sending children to school. Curfew-like conditions prevail in the mountains as soon as darkness falls.
Garhwal MP Anil Baluni has requested the PCCF of the Uttarakhand Forest Department to regularly review the situation of wild animal attacks and provide a daily report. Garhwal MP Anil Baluni stated that public safety is paramount. He is continuously striving to ensure concrete and prompt action on this issue.
