Dehradun: A day before Kargil Vijay Diwas 2025, i.e. on July 25, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given a big gift to the soldiers. The ex-gratia amount given to the Param Vir Chakra winners has been increased from Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1.5 crore. Apart from this, Param Vir Chakra winners will also continue to get three lakh rupees as annual grant.
CM Dhami announced to increase ex-gratia amount: In fact, CM Dhami had announced to increase the ex-gratia amount given to the Param Vir Chakra winners in the Sainik Samman ceremony organized in Khatima. The ceremony was organized on the occasion of the death anniversary of Late Subedar Sher Singh Dhami, father of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
After this, the Sainik Welfare Department prepared its proposal and sent it to CM Dhami for approval. On which proposal Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami has given his consent. In such a situation, the ex-gratia amount given to the Param Vir Chakra winners has increased by one crore rupees directly.
Param Vir Chakra winners will get a grant of one and a half crore: Before June 2022, the ex-gratia amount given to the Param Vir Chakra winner was Rs 30 lakh. On June 10, 2022, the cabinet decided to increase this amount to Rs 50 lakh. After this, a government order was also issued in this regard on July 14 in the year 2022. In such a situation, now the state government has increased the lump sum amount from 50 lakhs to one and a half crore rupees.
At the same time, CM Dhami said that the borders of our country are safe due to the valor, courage and sacrifice of our brave soldiers. In such a situation, it is the duty of every citizen to respect the bravery, dedication and sacrifice of the soldiers.
