Government is committed to the welfare of tribal society – Chief Minister Dhami

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday distributed appointment letters to 15 assistant teachers selected in the Government Ashram System Schools run under the Tribal Welfare Department at the Chief Servant House at the Chief Minister’s residence, as well as inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various departmental construction schemes costing more than Rs 15 crore.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed confidence that all these projects will not only prove helpful in strengthening the basic facilities of the tribal society, but will also provide better facilities to the citizens. Congratulating the selected candidates, the Chief Minister said that all the young teachers will play an important role in the overall development of the new generation. The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, many historic steps are being taken for the upliftment of the tribal society today.

The most important decision in this regard is to celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda as Tribal Pride Day. The Chief Minister said that the previous governments used to talk about the development of tribal society only for show, whereas today under the leadership of the Prime Minister, new works are being done on the ground for the overall development of the tribal society. The central government has increased the budget given for the development of tribal society by 3 times as compared to earlier. At the same time, schemes like Eklavya Model School, Pradhan Mantri Janjati Unnat Gram Abhiyan, Van Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Janjati Vikas Mission are also being run for the tribal society.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that 128 tribal villages of Uttarakhand have been selected under the “Pradhan Mantri Janjati Unnat Gram Abhiyan”. Today 4 Eklavya Adarsh ​​Residential Schools are being run in Kalsi, Mehravana, Bajpur and Khatima in our state, in which free education and hostel facilities are being provided to the students of tribal community. Similarly, recently a request has been made to the Central Government to open Eklavya School for the educational upliftment of Bhotiya and Raji tribes in the border district Pithoragarh. Chief Minister Dhami said that the state government is also doing many works for the welfare of the tribal society. While on the one hand scholarships are being provided to the children of tribal society in classes from primary to postgraduate level. At the same time, 16 government ashram system schools are also being run in the state. Along with this, three ITI institutes are being run in the state to provide technical education to the educated unemployed youth of the tribal society. Scholarships are also being provided to the children of the tribal society along with free coaching arrangements for the preparation of competitive examinations.

Chief Minister Dhami said that taking inspiration from the works of Lord Birsa Munda, the state government is also working with determination to preserve the cultural values ​​​​and demography of Uttarakhand. For this, strict anti-conversion law has been implemented in the state. The Chief Minister said that the state government has freed more than 9 thousand acres of government land from encroachment. Along with this, Uttarakhand has implemented the Uniform Civil Code law for the first time in the country, but all scheduled tribes have been kept out of this code to protect the traditions and customs of the tribes. On this occasion, the Chief Minister has announced the beautification of the Tribal Research Institute and construction of a high-tech toilet block for girls, and construction of a dining hall in the Adi Lakshya Institute.
