Government issued notice to Dehradun DM, sought reply, the matter is related to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla

Dehradun: The government has sent a notice to IAS officer and currently Dehradun District Magistrate Savin Bansal. Dehradun District Magistrate Savin Bansal is accused of violating the proper respect protocol standards when Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla visited Dehradun on 12 June.

Apart from this, Dehradun District Magistrate Savin Bansal is accused of not giving information to the Lok Sabha Speaker in a proper respectful manner over the phone. That is why Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman has summoned the DM for an answer. Lok Sabha Speaker’s staff made 7 calls to Dehradun DM on mobile and telephone in two days, but it is alleged that he ignored them by saying that he was busy in a meeting. These calls were made on mobile and landline. After 10 June and 11 June, this matter was reported to the CM Office. After this, DM Dehradun called back. It is alleged that the behavior of the DM was also very bad. The DM did not even come to receive the Lok Sabha Speaker. Protocol Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman says that a reply was sought from the District Magistrate in this matter. The Dehradun District Magistrate has responded to it. However, he did not tell what will be the further process after giving the reply. On the other hand, after calling the Dehradun District Magistrate regarding this entire matter, no answer has been given to the phone.

Let us tell you that Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla had recently come to participate in the 127th induction training program at the Administrative Academy in Mussoorie on 12 June. During this, he also addressed the officers undergoing training at the LBS Academy. It is alleged that during this time the protocol that the Lok Sabha Speaker should have received from Dehradun District Magistrate Savin Bansal was not received.
