Ahmedabad: In one of the largest police reshuffles in recent years, the Gujarat government on Monday issued transfer and promotion orders for 75 IPS officers and 30 SPS officers, with a sharp focus on urban policing, cybercrime investigation, and departmental recognition.

Among the most significant changes, Manoj Agarwal (IPS: 1991), currently serving as Director of Civil Defence and Commandant General of Home Guards, has been appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP), CID (Crime and Railways), Gandhinagar. His elevation comes after upgrading the post from Additional DGP to DGP level.

Key Postings in Ahmedabad City

The Ahmedabad police force saw substantial reorganization

Rahul Tripathi, SP Morbi, becomes DCP SOG, replacing Jayrajsinh Vala, who moves to Devbhumi Dwarka.

Himkar Singh, SP Rajkot Rural, is posted as DCP Economic Wing, while Bhagirath Gandhvi becomes DCP Zone-6, shifting from Surat.

B R Patel, formerly with Metro Security, is now DCP Traffic.

Baldev Desai and Baldevsinh Vaghela, both DCPs in Ahmedabad, have been transferred to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

Cyber Policing Gets a Boost

Cybercrime investigation emerged as a key focus area:

Rajdeepsinh Jhala has been appointed to lead the Cyber Centre of Excellence in Gandhinagar.

Newly promoted officers including Sanjaykumar Keshvala and Vivek Bheda have been posted to technical and cyber-related units, signalling a statewide push toward digital policing and investigation modernization.

Performance-Based Recognition

Several officers have been rewarded for their on-field track records:

Mayur Chavda, known for his strong crackdown on the liquor mafia as SP Bharuch, has been posted to head the State Monitoring Cell in Gandhinagar — a move seen as recognition for effective field performance.

10 Senior Officers Put on Waiting List

Notably, ten IPS officers from the 2011 batch have been moved to a waiting list without new postings, including:
