Gujarat: Major IAS reshuffle effected, M K Das is ACS to CM & Home Secretary

Gandhinagar : The Gujarat government effected a major bureaucratic reshuffle that includes the transfer and posting of 18 senior IAS officers. The list goes as follows:

Pankaj Joshi (IAS: 1989: GJ), currently ACS to Chief Minister, gets the additional charge as ACS Ports & Transport Department. Previously, M K Das held the additional charge of Ports & Transport.

Manoj Kumar Das (IAS: 1990: GJ) appointed as Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister with the additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Home. Previously, Das worked as ACS, Revenue Dept. In addition, Das will also hold the additional charge as ACS, Home Vice Amrendra Kumar Rakesh (IAS: 1989: GJ) who retires on 31.07.2024.

Sunaina Tomar (IAS: 1989: GJ) is now Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Education Department (Higher & Technical Education). She replaces Mukesh Kumar (IAS). She will hold the additional charge of ACS, Social Justice & Empowerment.

Dr. Jayanti S Ravi (IAS: 1991: GJ) was appointed as Additional CS, Revenue Department vice M K Das. After completing deputation tenure as Secretary, Auroville Foundation she recently repatriated to State Cadre. As an stop gap arrangement Swaroop P (IAS: 2003: GJ) would hold the additional charge as Secretary, Revenue until Jayanti Ravi assumes charge.

Dr. Anju Sharma (IAS: 1991: GJ) is now Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Co-operation Department vice Amrendra Kumar Rakesh. Previously she was ACS, Labour, Skill Development & Employment.

S J Haider (IAS: 1991: GJ) has been transferred and appointed as Additional CS, Energy & Petrochemicals Department Vice Mamta Verma (IAS). Prior to this Haider worked as ACS, Industries & Mines.

Mamta Verma (IAS: 1996: GJ) is now Principal Secretary, Industries & Mines Department. She replaces S J Haider.

Jagdish Prasad Gupta (IAS: 1991: GJ) is now Additional CS, Tribal Development Department vice Dr S Murali Krishna (IAS). Prior to this JP Gupta worked as ACS, Finance.

Dr T Natarajan (IAS: 1996: GJ) is now Principal Secretary, Finance Department Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar Vice J P Gupta. As an stop gap arrangement Rajeev Topno (IAS: 1996: GJ) will hold the additional charge of Finance Dept.

Mukesh Kumar (IAS: 1996: GJ) is now Principal Secretary, Education Department (Primary & Secondary Education) Vice Dr Vinod Ramchandra Rao. Prior to this Mukesh Kumar was Principal Secretary, Education (Higher & Technical Education).

Rajeev Topno (IAS: 1996: GJ) is now Chief Commissioner of State Tax, Ahmedabad. He recently repatriated to Sate Cadre on completion of foreign posting in Washington, DC.

Dr S Murali Krishna (IAS: 1998: GJ) is expected to be appointed as Officer on Special Duty to Commissioner, State Election Commission. His services are placed at the disposal of State EC.

Dr Vinod Ramachandra Rao (IAS: 2000: GJ) replaces Dr Anju Sharma as Secretary, Labour, Skill Development and Employment.

Anupam Anand (IAS: 2000: GJ) is now Commissioner, State Transport Vice Rajesh Manjhu (IAS). Manjhu will also hold the additional charge of Vice Chairman & MD, Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation vice A M Sharma.

Rajesh Manjhu (IAS: 2004: GJ) is now Revenue Inspection Commissioner & Ex-officio Secretary to Government, Revenue Department Vice Mona K Khandhar (IAS). Prior to this Manjhu worked as Principal Secretary to Governor of Gujarat.

A M Sharma (IAS: 2008: GJ) replaces Rajesh Manjhu as Principal Secretary to Governor of Gujarat.

Rakesh Shankar (IAS: 2004: GJ) is now Commissioner, Women & Child Development and Secretary, Women & Child Development Department. He will also hold the additional charge as Secretary, General Administration Department (Planning). He replaces K K Nirala.

K K Nirala (IAS: 2005: GJ) is now Secretary to Government, Finance Department (Expenditure).
