Haridwar Ardh Kumbh 2027, Garhwal Commissioner took a high level committee meeting, departments put forward proposals

Haridwar: To make Haridwar Ardh Kumbh 2027 grand and divine, Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey held a high level committee meeting with officials in the Mela Control Tower. In the meeting, the presentation of the work to be done by the departments in Kumbh was reviewed. The works have been divided into three A, B and C categories. Emphasis has been laid on completing the A category works by November 2026. Also, the proposal of these works has been asked to be sent to the state government in two-three days. In this meeting, there was also a discussion about the construction of new ghats and bridges in Haridwar, Rishikesh.

Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey said that there is a plan to make Ardh Kumbh as a divine and grand Kumbh. For which, proposals of works of departments worth about 3400 crores have been placed in the meeting. Which will be reviewed at the government level. A committee has been formed at the government level under the chairmanship of the Divisional Commissioner regarding Haridwar Kumbh. Which includes senior officers of all departments including Mela Adhikari, IG Mela.

Garhwal Commissioner said that in today’s meeting, proposals of Irrigation, PWD, Jal Sansthan, Drinking Water Corporation, Electricity Department, Medical Department have come. We have divided it into three parts of categorization A, B, and C. In category A, there are those works which are very important. Which are likely to take time. He said that all the proposals will be sent to the government in a day or two. The government will also do a review on the basis of priority. After that the final proposal will be sent to the Government of India.
