Haridwar: A shocking news has come from Haridwar District Jail of Uttarakhand. During the health test of the prisoners lodged in the jail here, 15 prisoners have been found HIV positive. After which, there has been a stir in the jail administration after HIV positive prisoners were found in Haridwar District Jail. A separate barrack has been made for all these prisoners in the district jail. Only HIV positive prisoners are living here. Along with this, their treatment is also going on.
Prisoners found HIV positive in jail
Haridwar’s Senior Jail Superintendent Manoj Kumar Arya said that on April 7, a health camp was organized in the district jail of Haridwar on the occasion of World Health Day, all the prisoners lodged in the district jail were tested, in which it has come to light that 15 positive HIV patients are in the district jail. After which all these HIV positive prisoners have been kept in the same barrack and their treatment is currently going on.
Earlier also 16 prisoners were found HIV positive in Haridwar jail. He told that after confirmation in the report, they are being treated regularly. Along with this, full attention is also being given to awareness. So that no confusion arises among other prisoners. Senior Jail Superintendent Manoj Kumar Arya said that at present there are 1100 prisoners in the district jail of Haridwar. Let us tell you that earlier in 2017 also, 16 prisoners were found HIV positive during medical examination in Haridwar jail. Let us tell you that there were 916 HIV positive patients in Haridwar district from the year 2021 to the year 2024.
